This luxury property in Cheshire, with its classic façade, would undergo a 21^st Century integration project with the latest sound, lighting and video systems.

An upgrade for the whole family

Our client wanted to transform her home into a connected property from which the whole family would benefit. We wanted to make the most of the space available to us, but also didn’t want the family to feel disconnected from one another in disparate spaces.

We proposed a fully integrated home project which would intertwine music, visuals and lighting for the ultimate entertainment centre. It would need to be fully customisable and intuitive, so we offered an iPad control system that could be used across generations.

Setting the tone

The first step was to make the most of the light in the property. It benefits from floor to ceiling windows throughout, allowing us to utilise natural light to its full potential. We started with motorised curtains and blinds throughout the first-floor bedrooms for that biophilic feel.

For a touch of added ambience, we installed a full Lutron lighting control system throughout the property. This would provide intelligent customisability, including pre-set evening and night-time settings for entertaining.

An added bonus was the colour-changing lighting, which can now be seen in the wine store, pool and gym areas. The family can now switch from high-energy disco vibes to cool yoga tones while they work out, or enjoy serene night-time swimming.

Turning up the volume

Complementing these light systems is a global SONOS music network, which allows the family to enjoy sounds all around the house. With an intuitive, unobtrusive speaker system, SONOS allows listeners to enjoy:

Streaming networks
Radio

The settings even allow for different sounds to play in different rooms, or for rooms to be grouped together. It’s all available at the touch of a tablet, set up through the SONOS iPad and iPhone apps. Family members can entertain on the go.

The main event

Entertainment doesn’t stop at music and lighting. We were thrilled to be able to install not one but three home cinemas within the property – one with a completely undetectable ‘invisible’ projection system.

Our motorised blind systems come into play in the other two areas, quickly transforming light and airy family rooms into private viewing areas. Adding to the viewing pleasure are integrated Apple TV and Sky+HD systems, as well as games consoles and Smart TV features.

Bringing it all together

A property of this value requires maximum security, so we have installed a CCTV system in eight areas across the house, with viewing platforms available on all screening devices.

We installed a managed Wi-Fi network, which offers top-speed broadband throughout the home, as well as the exterior terrace and outdoor pool area. Our cable management system is fully scalable, and won us ‘Best Dressed Rack’ at the CEDIA Awards 2014.

The result

Our client is absolutely thrilled, and her family now enjoy full customisability and control over their audio-visual systems. As a property that lends itself to entertaining, this award-winning home is now the jewel in the crown of the Cheshire ‘Golden Triangle’.
